Shania is in her second year of NAIT's Radio and Television program. She was born and raised in Angeles City, Philippines and moved to Edmonton, Alberta, when she was 15 years old. During her high school years, Shania volunteered to be a reading guide for elementary kids in her neighbourhood and a mural artist for an art installation about the history of Alberta in her high school. After completing high school, she developed a passion for photography and videography by exploring film and digital cameras, which led her to enroll in NAIT's Television program.
She then volunteered as a pet photographer at the Edmonton Humane Society during the holidays. Shania finds herself enjoying the technical aspect of her program and would like to work in a similar environment when she completes her diploma. This semester with NAIT NewsWatch, Shania hopes to expand her knowledge in production and post-production work that can benefit her future.
