Veterinary services at NAIT

By on April 22, 2026

The 2026 winter semester is wrapping up and as we head into the spring term, an amazing service to take advantage of is The Animal Health Clinic. They provide medical services for your pets while also giving students hands-on experience in the Animal Health Technology and Veterinary Medical Assistant programs. This allows students to apply what they’ve learned in a clinical setting under professional supervision while developing practical skills needed for future careers in animal care!

The clinic offers a range of essential services, including wellness exams, vaccinations, dental care and surgical procedures such as spays and neuters. These services help support pet health and provide preventative care at a lower cost than many external clinics, making them more accessible to students and staff. Prices for the following procedures are listed below:

– Annual exams, vaccines and dental evaluations: $30
– Microchip: $15 (in addition to an exam)
– Feline spay: $40
– Feline neuter: $30
– Canine neuter: $40
– Dental preanesthetic bloodwork and cleaning under anesthesia: $125 (bloodwork $50, procedure $75)

The clinic accepts animals that are friendly and easy to handle. Pets that are aggressive or highly stressed are referred to external clinics and they generally need to be under 20 kg for most services. For more information about their listed criteria, please head down to their in-person desk to book an appointment or to ask any further questions.

The clinic is located in the South Learning Centre, room X100, for in-person bookings. It can also be contacted by their phone number at 780-491-3135 or by email at animalclinic@nait.ca
