The Edmonton Symphony Orchestra enchants you with the music of Harry Potter

By Ryan Wiesner on March 22, 2024

The Edmonton Symphony Orchestra (ESO) will charm you with their take on all eight films from the Harry Potter franchise.

The ESO is performing The Magical Music of Harry Potter 23 years after the release of the first Harry Potter film, “Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone.”

The films have grossed over $7.7 billion worldwide over 10 years. Enrico Lopez-Yañez, the Principal Pops Conductor for the Nashville Symphony, casts his wand as he conducts the ESO for three magical nights.

This performance includes music from composers:

  • John Williams’ Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone, Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets and Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban.
  • Patrick Doyles’ Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire
  • Nicolas Hoopers’ Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix and Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince
  • Alexandre Desplats’ Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 1 and 2

Bring your children and share the multi-generational magic with The Magical Music of Harry Potter and ESO at Edmonton’s Winspear Centre for three days only:

  • Wednesday, April 10th, at 7:30 p.m.
  • Thursday, April 11th at 7:30 p.m.
  • Saturday, April 13th at 2 p.m.
