Save on Transit with NAIT U-Pass
By Nolan Hehir on April 9, 2025
NAIT students can now enjoy even more convenience and savings with the Universal Transit Pass (U-Pass), seamlessly built into the NAIT OneCard—your student ID that you are given when you start your first semester at NAIT. This fully digital U-Pass eliminates the need for separate transit cards, making it easier than ever to access public transportation across the city.
How Much Does the U-Pass Cost?
For the Fall 2025 term, the U-Pass is available from August 25 to December 16 for $180 per term already included in your tuition costs. To put this into perspective, a regular adult bus fare is approximately $102 per month, meaning students can save up to $224 per term by using the U-Pass! That’s a significant discount for anyone relying on transit to get to school, work, or social events.
However, keep in mind that the U-Pass is not available during the spring and summer terms, from May 1st to August 24th.
Who Can Use the U-Pass?
The U-Pass is available to all eligible on-campus credit students. With just a simple tap of your OneCard, you can ride buses and LRT stations without needing extra tickets or passes.
How to Sign Up for the U-Pass:
1. Ensure you are an eligible on-campus credit student.
2. Visit the NAITSA website for details and instructions.
3. Follow the steps to link the U-Pass to your NAIT OneCard.
4. Tap your OneCard on transit!
