As the first semester at NAIT wraps up for many students, it’s a good time to reflect on what has made student life more exciting and connected. The NAIT Nugget isn’t just a newspaper; it’s a chance to be part of something bigger on campus.
Many students first come across The Nugget paper out of curiosity, to find out what kind of stories, photos and arts are being shared and what events are being covered. It quickly becomes a go-to place to find out what’s happening around campus and how to get involved.

While we’re all busy with exams and final assignments, it’s also a good time to think ahead, to your next semester. The Nugget is a great way to meet people and build skills outside of class.
Here’s what makes it awesome:
- You get to cover events that interest you.
- You can write, take photos or help with designs.
- You can earn money for contributions.
- The team is friendly and welcoming.
For me, it was a chance to practice photography, go to fun events and actually get paid. It helped me feel more connected to NAIT and I’ve met some great people along the way.

If you’re curious, visit The NAIT Nugget office in O105. You don’t need experience, just interest. It’s a great way to try something new and make the most of your time at NAIT.
