Your time at NAIT needs to be valuable because most of the terms offered are two-year diploma programs. Those two years are going to go very quickly. Also, some of the classes there are very busy, and the students may not have time to go and hang out with friends outside of class. Here’s some ways how you can spend your time here at NAIT.
I always recommend hanging out with your friends from class outside of school because they could be your future employers or bosses, so building those relationships with peers is important. You could go to the Nest or go to events that NAITSA has going on to start connecting with other students outside your program who may have the same interests as you.
The instructors are there for a reason, they’re able to help if you have any questions about an assignment, and they want to make sure that the students succeed in their assignments. If you need help with your mental health, NAIT has counseling that offers advice for students who may need help going through a crisis.
If you need accommodation support for your classes, then they offer what’s called Learning Advising to any NAIT student who need it. They offer a reduced course load and extra time for assignments and exams and a private room for those exams and much more. I have an accommodation account set up with them in case I need it, trust me it’s useful for people who need it.
These tips I just mentioned are ways that will hopefully you help spend your time wisely while you’re here learning at NAIT.
