How the lost and found at NAIT works

By on April 22, 2026

Losing things sucks. We have all lost things that are important to us, and it is heartbreaking. Luckily for NAIT students, we have a campus-wide lost and found service that is fairly easy to access.

The lost and found is run by Protective Services here on the main campus at D104. You can find them by going out the doors just north of the Artisanal market and walking straight ahead. They are in the next building on the right with a big security sign.

When you realize something has been lost, head over to the office to check if your item has been turned in. Make sure to bring your ID as it is necessary. If it has been turned in and entered into the system, you can retrieve your item from them; it may be at another campus location. The peace officer there will direct you on where to go to collect your item.

If your belongings have not been turned in yet, you can file a report. They will ask you for your ID, a description of the item you lost, where it was lost, and some contact information. Once you do that, they will give you a case number. You can go back in a couple of days and check again. You can also wait for them to contact you.

All turned-in items are kept for 30 days, except for clothing items, which are disposed of at the end of the day for sanitary reasons. They also do not accept any food or drink containers.

Losing things suck but NAIT protective services makes it suck just a little less.
