Health Zone opens at TELUS World of Science

By Admin User on March 1, 2022

Health Zone has recently opened to the public as part of the TELUS World of Science’s ongoing expansion. The exhibition takes visitors on a tour of their own health stories. The brand-new gallery explores a variety of factors that influence your everyday health. One’s biology, our environment and how the healthcare system helps us are all explored throughout the interactive exhibit.

Funding for the project had come from various organizations across the province. “I think the new health gallery is very timely, to understand how our bodies work and how the healthcare system works,” said former Edmonton mayor, Don Iveson. He and his city council were instrumental in starting funding for the project seven years ago. The Health Sciences Association of Alberta and the Union of Healthcare Professionals also donated $250,000 towards the project.

The partnerships have made the Health Zone a permanent fixture of the centre’s Auora Project expansions. The additions to the current building will see the centre grow 20 per cent in size. “If we are doing our job right, we are giving you glimpses beyond what you normally see,” said President & CEO of TELUS World of Science, Alan Darnell. “We are giving you a chance to make sense of the world.”
