Former football player tackles live reporting

Brandon Desmarais was a slotback for the McNally High School football team. Now, he is taking on something even more intense: live television.
He will be this semester’s first live reporter on NAIT NewsWatch. The NAIT NewsWatch live reporter performs their segment from another location on NAIT, adding pressure.
“Jumping into new waters is going to be scary,” said Desmarais.
Desmarais has been working on improving his writing skills and becoming more comfortable in front of the camera.
“I definitely prefer to be the talent,” he said.
The first NAIT NewsWatch show will be available for streaming October 1.
