Edmonton’s first haunted show home

By Admin User on November 8, 2018

On Halloween, Sterling Homes hosted the first-ever haunted show home and it brought out every trick and no treats.

The haunted show home is one-of-a-kind as it has never been done anywhere before. “Working in the show home you don’t usually get a lot of trick or treaters,” says Chantelle MacKenzie, the area sales manager for Sterling Homes. “I wanted to change that and change up the game a bit and show people that we’re a little bit more creative than the others.”

The haunted show home did show off its interiors. Going through the house you got to take a look at the kitchen, living rooms and bedrooms. The home attracted both potential homeowners and fans of Halloween festivities.

The huge kitchen covered with props and fake blood.

This event not only helped show off the home but also helped local charities. “The main reason we’re doing it is to raise donations for the Edmonton Food Bank and Santas Anonymous,” said MacKenzie. In order to view the show home, a donation for either of these charities was required. The donations boxes were already half full by the middle of the night.

With the success of this year’s event, there’s already talk about making this an annual event. “It’s gonna be even better next year we’ve got some awesome stuff. We have garages overflowing right now with stuff for the haunted houses and we may even have two houses next year,” said MacKenzie.
