The announcement comes weeks after the current president, Dr. Glenn Feltham said he was retiring at the end of the year. Dr. Block will hold the position until a new president and CEO is recruited.

In a news release, Dr. Block says “Glenn was so awesome and so skilled in so many ways. For me, it’ll be a change in terms of it being a team effort, so we’ll so more of the other executives engaged.”

Dr. Block, a former NAIT student, has been a part of the school’s executive committee for the last eight years. Before that, he held senior positions with many organizations such as the Alberta Mental Health Board and the University of Alberta.

Some of Dr. Block’s achievements include:

  • A Masters of Agriculture in Economics and a Bachelors of Commerce from the University of Alberta
  • Charted Professional accountant
  • Doctor of Philosophy in Public Health Sciences from the University of Alberta

“Ray will provide high-quality leadership and stability for NAIT while we continue to recruit a new president and CEO. NAIT hopes to have the president and CEO position filled by this summer.
