Deadmonton’s 10 years of fear

By Aivree Irvine on October 17, 2023

It is Deadmonton’s 10th anniversary, and they have decided to bring us back to where they started by re-introducing the Williams Farm.

The Williams Farm, Year 1 – Deadmonton 2014

The Williams Farm is a haunted house that started what is now known as Deadmonton, using an old farmhouse setting based behind MacEwan University. In year two of Deadmonton, it was called “The Curse of Williams Farm,” which was named after a movie they made based on their haunted house. As Deadmonton grew, they added different haunted houses to their list but decided, for their 10 years, to pay tribute to the story that started them.

“We moved locations this year, so we’re in the old Edmonton Sun building now; we moved right after last season was over,” said Kathrine Petch, the general manager at Deadmonton. “So the location is three times as big as our old location, plus the outside area’s bigger.”

The three haunted houses that Deadmonton has to offer are:
Return of Williams Farm
The Convent
The Print Show

“For the third show that we added on this year, we paid homage to the Edmonton Sun, and we called the show the print show. So it’s about a murderous murderer upstairs in the old Edmonton Sun building, so we even have some good newspaper props and that kinda stuff.”

Besides the three haunted houses, Deadmonton offers many different activities for all ages, such as food trucks, concession stands, alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages and a Photo-op Alley, where you can interact with props and be scared by the many actors walking around.

Deadmonton runs every weekend for the rest of this month and has its last show on Saturday, November 4th.
