Taryn Andrusiak was born and raised in Edmonton Alberta, and graduated from Vimy Ridge Academy in June of 2021. She is now in her third semester of the television broadcasting program at the Northern Alberta Institute of Technology. She is part of producing the campus news NAIT NewsWatch.
Growing up, Taryn grew up in a family where sports was the main focus. She played multiple sports, but her favourites were hockey and rugby. She hopes to find a career with the NHL or any major sports industry doing camera operating.
She has gained experience in the industry by volunteering for the 2023 Junos as a seat filler, and she also has a job with the NAIT OOKs as a camera operator for the womens and mens hockey team. She currently works at Homesense where she has worked for 2 years.
When she is not doing schoolwork, you can find her watching her favourite hockey teams the Edmonton Oilers and Tampa Bay Lighting, hanging out with friends, and listening to eighties rock.
