By far, the most important thing for any NAIT student to know is where they can go to get their morning coffee. A morning coffee plays a big part in any student’s success, and thankfully, NAIT knows this, too.
On campus, we have seven places that a student can go to get their coffee in the morning before class, all of these coffee spots are provided by Eat @ NAIT.

- The Common Market
- Starbucks (in the CAT building)
- Tim Hortons (in the CAT building)
- Starbucks (in the Industrial building)
- Tim Hortons (in the Industrial building)
The real question, though, is not how many places on campus you can go to get coffee, but where is the best place? And the answer all depends on your preference.
Everyone likes their coffee a certain way, whether you take yours with cream, sugar or you like it black. And like how everyone has a different way of taking their coffee, everyone has different ideas of where they want to go to get that coffee.
But as students, we don’t have enough time to go try them all, so here is a list of the pros and cons for each of our campus coffee spots.
1. Fresh Express and the Common Market
Pros:
– They have the cups and coffee ready to go so you can just pour and go!
– Fast and efficient.
Cons:
– You have only got two options of coffee, a dark roast and a medium roast.
– You can only add sugar and cream to your coffee.
– You have to pour the coffee yourself.
2. Starbucks (the CAT building and the Industrial building)
Pros:
– Both of these coffee spots offer the same drinks and options.
– You will get the same service no matter which Starbucks you go to.
– You have many options and can customize your drinks to your heart’s content.
Cons:
– Starbucks is the most expensive place to get coffee at NAIT.
– Often, you have to wait in line before you can get your coffee, which makes it a bad place to go between classes.
– It is an American brand.
3. Tim Hortons (the CAT building and the Industrial building)
Pros:
– Tim Hortons is a Canadian company!
– This is one of the cheapest places on campus where you can get your coffee.
– You have many options.
– Because there are two Tim Hortons on campus, you aren’t limited to one coffee spot!
Cons:
– Long waits for your drinks make it a bad choice between classes.
– This is often where most of the NAIT students choose to go, so it is often busy during lunch, before class, and at the end of the school day.
As you can see, there are many options for you when it comes to choosing where to get your coffee while on campus. I hope that this breakdown helps you decide which one is best for you.
