If there’s one thing I have unexpectedly found useful while attending NAIT, it would be a student ID – better known as a OneCard. At first glance, it’s another card to add to the growing stack in your wallet, but the OneCard is an adept tool that improves campus life.
What exactly does the OneCard do though? The answer to that is – honestly a lot.
Student Life
The OneCard’s usefulness correlates directly with student life and one of the main contributors to that is the access to library resources. Accessing NAIT’s abundant collection of resources is vital to a student’s success.
Whether you’re studying business, trades or woodworking, your OneCard gives you direct access to NAIT’s learning resources. Library services also provide printing, copying and scanning – all accessible with your OneCard.
Recreation
NAIT’s campus includes a fitness weight centre, fully accessible with a OneCard. It features strength training, cardio equipment and even racquetball courts. This is entirely free to use, and all you have to do is scan your OneCard on the way in.
Students attending NAIT can use Grant MacEwan’s swimming pool with a valid NAIT OneCard. This includes public swimming, lane swimming and more aquatic registered programs.
Food and Retail
You can use a OneCard similar to a credit card to pay for goods at NAIT. Specifically when it comes to food, The Corner Store, Common Market, vending machines and even Subway all take OneCard payments. It’s an incredibly useful tool for those looking to reduce inventory in a wallet.
Shop AT NAIT also accepts OneCard’s, making student life that much easier. You can buy notebooks, writing supplies or even protective equipment needed for many of NAIT’s programs.
OneCard
The NAIT OneCard is a must-have tool designed specifically for the benefit of students and it shows. A lot of “student-made” resources sound great but the practicality of them is non-existent. NAIT offers something that doesn’t just work on paper but also delivers in real life.
