Important words to remember during hard times

By Admin User on November 9, 2020

A two, three or even four or five word phrase is not limited to just those few words in my eyes.

Looking at it now it’s eye-opening that this simple of a phrase can hold a meaning or definition that everyone around you may never know about. Being able to attach a meaning or connection to a phrase/word that resonates with you is a very special thing.

For me it was two phrases:

  • Not alone
  • It’s okay to not be okay

I was never fully able to grasp the full meaning of these two phrases before a traumatic experience in my life. Without going through trauma, I don’t believe these words would have meant as much to me as they do now.

To start, not alone. Two words that define so much more. Being able to look at this and understand this can be hard for people that do not necessarily have that core group of family members or friends in their lives. For me it’s easier, a remarkable family and an incredible group of friends helps me realize that this message is bigger and equally as important as any other message in my life. I am not alone and you are not alone, even on the days you feel as though you are. Utilize the resources around you… and those resources are the people that care about you and love you.

The second, it’s okay to not be okay. Six words. Six short but powerful words that create a massive sense of bravery and courage within yourself once you understand it… and realize it. Everything takes time, this realization will take time. As the world continues to take a step back due to the pandemic. Individual’s mental state’s are taking on that burden and moving to the forefront of our minds. It is okay to not be okay during these times and it is certainly okay to not be okay during any time.

Find your phrase and stick with it. Do not be ashamed, live by it, write it on something, do what you need to do to live each and every day to the fullest no matter what is going on around you.
