How to make quick and easy air fryer apple fritters
By Brenna Boutcher on October 7, 2024
As a certified pumpkin hater, I always stick to apple-based desserts during the fall. My favourite one would have to be a warm apple pie with vanilla ice cream, but as a college student, I don’t have the time to make and cut out the crust and put everything together. Instead, I like to make quick and easy apple fritters in an air fryer.
Ingredients
- 1/4 cup flour
- 1/8 cup golden or brown sugar
- A sprinkling of salt to taste
- 1/8 tsp cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp baking powder
- 1 tbsp milk
- 1 tbsp melted butter
- A quarter of an apple
- 1/8 cup icing sugar
- 1 tsp milk
- 1/8 tsp cinnamon
Directions
Preheat air fryer to 400 F, once preheated, place a baking sheet in the air fryer. Start by mixing 1/4 cup flour, 1/4 teaspoon baking powder, 1/8 teaspoon cinnamon and a sprinkling of salt together in a bowl.
In a separate bowl, mix 1/8 teaspoon brown or golden sugar with a tablespoon of milk and a tablespoon of melted butter. You can use any type of milk, but I used vanilla oat milk because I like how the vanilla complements the fritter.
Combine this bowl with the dry mixture until well combined.
Then, fold the apples into the mixture.
Place the mixture in a roughly oval shape on the baking sheet and cook for eight to ten minutes.
To make the glaze, mix 1/8 cup of icing sugar with a teaspoon of milk and 1/8 teaspoon of cinnamon in a bowl.
Place cooked apple fritters on a cooling rack or plate. Once the fritters are slightly warm to the touch, coat them with the glaze and enjoy!
