By Katrina Schepian on December 10, 2025
College students often have limited budgets, the holidays offer students a chance to relax at home with family or, in their collage apartment with friends. As the holiday season approaches, here are some easy at home and affordable holiday plan ideas for NAIT students.
The holidays are the perfect time to do your favourite hobbies. Whether you start that crochet blanket you haven’t had time for while watching some holiday classic movies or finally dive back into your favourite holiday cookie recipe, now is the time to unwind and enjoy your interests.
NAIT students get Spotify Premium free for one month, then at a discounted price after. It is the perfect time of the year to build the perfect holiday playlist and receive a great discount.
While listening to your favourite holiday playlist, it’s the perfect time to bake the best and simplest sugar cookies. This easy but delicious sugar cookie recipe is an all-time favourite.
Super simple sugar cookie recipe
- 1 cup butter, softened
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 egg
- 1 tsp vanilla
- 2 ½ cups flour
- 1 tsp baking powder
- ¼ tsp salt
First, start off with the butter and sugar, then mix in the egg and vanilla. In a separate bowl, combine the dry ingredients and add them to the wet mixture. Chill the dough in your fridge for at least one hour, roll it out and cut into shapes. Bake at 350°F for eight to 10 minutes and decorate how you want.
Freshly baked cookies only get better when paired with holiday movie classics. These are three of the all-time best family-friendly holiday movies you can watch.
- Elf
- Home Alone
- Santa Paws
With the holiday season coming up, no matter how it’s spent, NAIT students remember to take time and take the chance to refresh before the new semester. Make yourself comfortable, spend the time doing the hobbies you enjoy, visiting family and friends, and have fun this holiday season.
