Holiday fun to help you unwind and recharge

By Thomas McPherson on December 10, 2025

As we enter the final weeks of our first term, many students are feeling the pressure of upcoming assignments, final projects, and exams. On top of that, the stress of the holiday season is creeping in, leaving many wondering what to do during the break. But don’t worry—there are plenty of events and activities both on and off campus to help you unwind, make new friends, and even start planning for the holidays. There’s no shortage of fun ways to de-stress and make the most of this time!

Here are a few Christmas events at NAIT this week you may not have known about.

On-Campus Holiday events:

Wednesday, December 10 | 3 p.m.–7 p.m. | CAT Building, Room 317

  • Feeling creative? Join the Architecture & Interior Design club for a festive, hands-on holiday event. Come hang out with friends, relax, and build your very own Christmas-themed house. Whether you’re crafty or just want to unwind, this event offers something fun for everyone.

Wednesday, December 10 | 4 p.m.–8 p.m. | CAT Building, Room 191

  • Take a break from studying and enjoy a classic Christmas movie with fellow students. NAIT will be screening Home Alone—the perfect nostalgic pick for the season! Even better, free food will be provided for all who attend.

Off-Campus Holiday Ideas:

  • Holiday Movie Marathon: Gather your friends or family and dive into some Christmas classics. Whether you’re into The Grinch, Die Hard, Spirited, or any of your seasonal favorites, movie nights are a great way to relax during the break.
  • Christmas Cookie Making: Baking is the perfect way to get into the festive spirit. Try making gingerbread or sugar cookies—both fun to decorate and easy to finish in a single day. Plus, it’s a great activity to share with friends, partners, or family.

As finals wrap up and the holiday break approaches, remember to take time for yourself. Whether you choose to participate in NAIT’s on-campus events or enjoy off-campus activities, these ideas can help you relax, recharge, and fully embrace the Christmas season.
