Find your niche at NAIT

NAIT’s campus is massive, and there’s always something going on. Little do you know, you might be unaware of some of the most exciting student happenings – NAIT’s many clubs! There are 70 unique clubs to join, so you’re bound to find your niche, and we’ve compiled a list of some standouts.

Adventure Club at NAIT
Beginning just a couple of years ago, NAIT’s Adventure Club aims to bring students together to see the great outdoors. The group of explorers “recognized that many students are not from the Edmonton area and they may be short on friends or things to do.” The club meets about once a month to go on group hikes, visit Edmonton’s numerous parks or just grab a bite to eat together. They have a Discord and Instagram page so you can stay up-to-date with upcoming meetings.

Board Game Club at NAIT
This game-loving group has been meeting two to three times per month since 2022! No need to bring your family’s Catan to school – the Board Game Club has a collection of games for you to choose from. They offer games at varying difficulties, (light-weight, mid-weight and heavy-weight) so you’re sure to find a game that suits your style. This club has an active Discord and Instagram account.

Climbers of NAIT
With all levels of rock climbers encouraged to join, the Climbers at NAIT meet three times per week. Since its inception last year, the club has been meeting at two different climbing gyms in the city, Boulders and Factory. Since both gyms are owned by Rock Jungle, only one monthly membership is required to climb, and they offer a $10 discount to students! You can get the latest updates via the club’s Instagram. Though there’s nothing happening in December, they’ll be starting up again in the new year with a meeting scheduled for January ninth.

Gamers of Dungeons and Dragons
One of NAIT’s oldest clubs, originating in 2014, Gamers of DND meet twice a week. On Wednesdays and Fridays from 4p.m. to 8p.m., come play Dungeons & Dragons, or pick from a locker of other thrilling tabletop games. Have a game you want to bring to the table? Personal games are encouraged! The club also has more than enough D20’s to go around, so no sweat if you don’t have your own dice. You can join their Discord server if you’re interested.

NAIT Hip Hop Dance Club
The Hip Hop Dance Club is one of NAIT’s most established clubs. Since its beginning in 2016, this group has hosted cheap workshops, drop-in classes and a performance dance team. The performance team is a selected group of dancers who perform in showcases across the city. Perspective members can join their Discord, or follow them on Instagram, TikTok and YouTube to stay in the loop about NAIT’s dance team.
