By madi gerrior on December 11, 2024

NAIT has many secrets for keeping students entertained while also offering stress-free environments. Some of the best stress-free environments may be closer than you think.

Tucked away in various NAIT courtyards, the NAIT gardens are a peaceful getaway for students to relax, study and hang out with friends after a long day of classes. The gardens spread out around campus, holding quite a variety of fruits, vegetables and fresh-smelling flowers that’ll tickle your nose. The gardens demonstrate NAIT’s dedication to giving its students a well-rounded environment.

Here’s what you can learn and experience from the NAIT Garden:

  • Covering up plants during the winter season helps them survive until Spring. They need a place to thrive, and the cold is not a good environment for them as they will wilt away. Cover them up with frost blankets to protect them from harsh chilly environments.
  • It is a peaceful retreat for study and relaxation. You can experience a serene and relaxing space for studying.
  • It is a representation of education, culture and community. The garden demonstrates the hard work of students and how it is taken care of.
  • It is a must-see space for students, staff and visitors.

The culinary arts students run one of the best-hidden gardens at NAIT, known as the Culinary Garden. The garden features a range of plants. These include vegetables, herbs and fresh tobacco. The tobacco is used for indigenous ceremonies at the Nîsôhkamâtotân Centre. The gardens at NAIT are here all year-round, providing a comfortable and relaxing space for students and instructors alike.

Above all, whether you’re hanging out with friends, studying under the gazebo or taking in the fresh scent of herbs and flowers the NAIT Gardens is the place for you.
