Chocofest: The best way to end winter term

By on April 22, 2026

Spring has finally sprung, bringing Edmonton snow, rain, wind, clouds, and the occasional sunbeam. This fickle season also brings us to the end of NAIT’s 2026 Winter term. This year, the winter term comes to a close on Friday, April 24th, which perfectly lines up with the beginning of Alberta’s premier chocolate tasting festival, Chocofest. This two-day chocolate tasting extravaganza is the perfect way for any student to finish off their semester. So here’s everything you need to know to join this chocolate celebration.

Starting off with admission, a standard ticket provides the guest access to all the chocolate fun for a specific two-hour time slot. This limits the number of people entering, which helps the Chocofest volunteers reduce lineups and crowds. Designated time slots also dictate when certain groups of people are welcome. If you don’t want kids around, try one of their adult-only time slots. Here are the times and their audiences for the 2026 Chocofest.

Friday, April 24th

  • Seniors Only 4 p.m.–5 p.m.
  • Adults Only 5 p.m.–7 p.m.
  • Adults Only 7 p.m.–9 p.m.

Saturday, April 25th

  • Seniors Only 10 a.m.–11 a.m.
  • General Admission 11 a.m.–1 p.m.
  • General Admission 1 p.m.–3 p.m.
  • General Admission 3 p.m.–5 p.m.

At the door, general admission is $20, while the adult-only slots are$25. All children 12 and under receive free admission. If you purchase tickets online beforehand, you’ll get a 20% discount on general admission and adult-only tickets and a 50% discount on senior-only tickets, making the ticket prices online $16, $20, and $10, respectively.

Experience events like the Chocolate Chip Cookie Bake-off, or live chocolatier and pastry chef demonstrations. Kids can enjoy face painting, the Cookie Monster Throw, and a selfie booth. And, of course, the main attraction: the many chocolate vendors with confections from talented makers across Canada, all for your viewing and purchasing pleasure. But buying one pack of a single variety of chocolate isn’t enough. Introducing Taste Tickets, a separate variety of tickets from the admission ones. These tickets can be shown to vendors for samples. Each ticket is around $2.50 and can be purchased in bundles of 5, 10, or 25. These tickets can be purchased online beforehand and are redeemable through a QR code. If you’ve used all your tickets, you can easily buy more online. All ticket sales are final and non-refundable. If you’re worried about having too many, any unused balance will be donated to local food banks.

Chocofest is being held in Sherwood Park, Alberta, at the Millennium Place Recreation Center, located at 2000 Premier Way. Events and fairs are often hosted here, as it has five different arenas for booths, events, and chocolate tasting galore. Millennium also has free parking for all guests.

Now that you know everything you need to know about this second annual run of Alberta’s premier chocolate festival, where do you get your tickets? Just visit their website for everything Chocofest. Now go enjoy the sweet taste of spring with the best way to end your winter term.
