Cheap places to eat at NAIT

One goal that I had when I began my first semester here at NAIT was to make sure that I didn’t spend too much money on food, no matter how hungry I was. Luckily for me, I found out quickly just how many places there were on the NAIT campus to go to when I was in need of a quick, cheap meal.

Fresh Express is a store that has lots of low-priced options when it comes to delicious food. It has a particular focus on community, as the students in the NAIT culinary program make all the food. You can see it in the U building right next to the cafeteria. It is highly rated among students, and you can always see many lining up to order whenever you pass by.

Next, there’s the Artisanal Food Market, which is a convenient place for students to shop in between or after classes. Whether you need to find ingredients to prepare for dinner later, or even a frozen treat to snack on when you get home, the Artisanal Food Market has many options, including: 

• Pastries
• Deli cuts
• Ice creams
• Soups

Similar to the Fresh Express, the culinary program makes everything there. They make sure to keep their prices low, so going here is a great option for students who are looking for ways to save.

Finally, If you’re looking for something a little fancier, then you can head down to the Nest. The Nest is NAIT’s very own bar and is in the S building. Along with delicious food and weekly specials, it also has fun activities for students to participate in when they need to de-stress after class, like weekly karaoke, sketch nights, and game nights.
