Baked Camembert recipe

By Alexander Fahlman on October 17, 2024

As the leaves begin to fall and the air turns crisp, nothing is more comforting than a warm snack. Whether hosting friends or just enjoying a quiet night at home, this quick and easy recipe will give you some extra comfort this fall.

What you’ll need

For this recipe, you need only brown sugar, rosemary, strawberries and, of course, the camembert. If you want to level it up, add some thyme and balsamic vinegar.

Step-by-step instructions

Place the Camembert in a small oven-safe dish. Using a knife, carefully score the cheese. Cut vertically across, then turn the Camembert about 90 degrees and begin cutting again to make a diamond pattern across the top.

Once you have it scored, you can take your rosemary and thyme and insert them between the cracks you have created.

After you’ve finished, you can start adding your brown sugar. Using a spoon, carefully spread a layer of brown sugar over the top. Use the back of the spoon to pat it down. Make sure to cover the entire top to get lots of that delicious crust.

Dice a handful of strawberries into bite-size pieces. You can use as many or as few as you want for this. Optional: To take your Camembert to the next level, toss your strawberries into a bowl with a drizzle of balsamic vinegar and set aside to marinate for five minutes.

Set your oven or air-fryer to 400 F and toss in your Camembert. Bake for 10 minutes. With two minutes left, take your camembert out of your air-fryer and spoon your strawberry mixture over the top. Toss it back in and let it continue to bake for the remainder of the time.

After letting it cool, serve with a crusty white loaf and enjoy.
