With the holiday break coming up, finding fun things to do can be difficult after a long, hard semester. So, save your brain power for all that holiday shopping and take a read through this curated list of the top five events going on around Edmonton this holiday season.
Candy Cane Lane, Bundle up and take a walk down Edmonton’s famous Candy Cane Lane this holiday season, and explore all the beautiful light displays. This is perfect for all ages and is free to everyone, located along 148 st from 92 ave to 99 ave. This is the ideal way to get in the holiday spirit.
Edmonton Christmas Market, The Edmonton Christmas Market is back at Fort Edmonton Park from Nov 29 to Dec 21. Tickets are $23.50, with so many activities and events to check out, this one is definitely worth taking a trip down to the park. Make sure you purchase your tickets and take a sneak peek at all of the wonderful activities that await you at the Yeg Xmas Market.
The Canadian Tire Magic of Lights, Rad Torque Raceway, is back with their annual Canadian Tire Magic of Lights drive-through show this year, from Nov 20 to Jan 3. Get together with your friends and family, grab some hot chocolate and go for a drive through this beautiful light display. Tickets are $35.00 for an eight-passenger.
Victoria Park Ice Skating Trails, A classic wintertime activity that is free to all, and a great idea for a date night, or family fun in the winter cold. The Victoria Oval skating rink and trails are the perfect place for all your aesthetic winter photos, with beautiful lights lining the trails and the beautiful forestry of the river valley.
High Level Bridge Streetcar, The Edmonton High Level Streetcar at holiday time is an inexpensive way to get in on the holiday joy. The streetcar travels from the Whyte Ave Terminus, stopping at the Old Strathcona, 107 st, Garneau, Government Centre and the Jasper Place Terminus before turning back. The streetcar is cash only, and round-trip tickets are $10. The streetcars will also be running through Fort Edmonton Park during the Christmas Market mentioned above.
