3 ways to help you stay connected at NAIT

By Darrien Byers on April 24, 2024

Let’s face it, it’s easy to feel like you aren’t connecting with everything and everyone around you. Staying connected with the NAIT community can also be hard.

If you struggle with making friends or have trouble staying involved, you aren’t alone. It’s a very common feeling that most NAIT students have.

Even I found it hard to start connecting with other students. That’s why I have some tips to help you start making those connections.

Join or start a club

You hear it all the time but it’s true! Joining or starting a club is such an amazing way to make any connections. You get to meet new people with like-minded interests. What’s not to love about that?

NAITSA offers an extensive list of clubs for you to join.

  • Board Game Club at NAIT
  • Climbers of NAIT
  • Hip Hop Dance Club at NAIT (HDC)
  • Pride at NAIT
  • Super Smash Bros. Club

These are just a few of the many clubs that NAITSA clubs offers for you to join. If you don’t see a club that interests you, NAITSA encourages you to create your own club so that you can meet people with the same interests as you and connect with them.

Go to a NAITSA Event

NAITSA is known to be running various events throughout the school year. One of my favourite ways of connecting with NAIT is by going to these events.

On May 8th, NAITSA will be holding an event called FREE Ice Cream with NAITSA PAWSS Dogs. This is a great way for you to relax from your summer classes, get some free ice cream and meet some new people and dogs.

Go to an Ooks game

Lastly, Ooks sporting events are a great way to connect with your NAIT community. Cheering on your favourite Ooks team immerses you into that NAIT community because who doesn’t love supporting their school and showing some NAIT pride?

Staying involved and connected at NAIT has never been easier. These are just a few of the ways that you can stay connected with NAIT.
