Winter Whyte Light Up kicks off the holiday season at McIntyre Park

Old Strathcona was lit up on Saturday, November 25. With lots of entertainment and family fun for the area, the event featured beautiful lights and Christmas decorations throughout the park, Christmas carols and various indoor and outdoor activities for all ages.

At 4 p.m., the Executive Director of the Old Strathcona Business Association, Cherie Klassen, and the Mayor of Edmonton, Amarjeet Sohi, declared the event’s start and welcomed the community.
The mayor of Edmonton has fun alongside volunteers.
Coloured lights brightened the night.
The decorations on the trees were the highlight of the park.
Christmas decorations could be seen throughout McIntyre Park.
The audience had fun passing through a luminous arch in the middle of the party.
Some local artists also entertained the public.
A magician entertained the children.
The presence of a magician engaged people of all ages.
Olaf entertained those who stopped by to check out the event at McIntyre Park.
A vibrant Christmas choir lit up the night inside the library.
The children could do some extra indoor activities, such as crafts and painting.
The Old Strathcona Farmers’ Market was also decorated to welcome the crowd.
A local artist performed for free inside the Old Strathcona Farmers’ Market.
A local artist thanks everyone who came and made the Winter Whyte Light Up event even brighter.
