By Admin User on October 31, 2019

The highly praised Marvel: Universe of Superheroes exhibition is opening at the TELUS World of Science this weekend.

Marvel characters travelled around the city on Thursday to promote the opening of the exhibition. Don Iveson welcomed Iron Man at City Hall to kick off the action-packed day.

Characters took photos with their fans at Kingsway Mall, Scotia Place, City Hall and TELUS World of Science.

Marvel: Universe of Superheroes is an exhibition that covers the 80-year history of the Marvel universe, going right back to the very first comic books and the very first creative minds who dreamed up these superheroes,” said Alan Nursall, President and CEO at the TELUS World of Science.

The exhibition has over 300 artifacts, props and costumes on display. As well, there are some interactive features for fans to experience.

“You see really stunning art and artifacts from decades ago, and you see the same things you see in the movies. You see movie props, costumes, and there’s lots of great photo-ops too,” said Nursall.

“There’s something for all Marvel fans out there, and something for all comic book fans out there,” said Ursula Pattloch, Director of Marketing and Communications at the TELUS World of Science.

Edmonton is the first city in Canada, and the third city in North America to host the exhibition. It was originally created in Seattle.

Marvel: Universe of Superheroes is at TELUS World of Science until February 17, 2020.
