Salvation Army launches its annual Christmas Kettle Campaign

By Admin User on November 26, 2018

The Salvation Army launched its annual Christmas Kettle Campaign to raise money for those in need during the holidays.

The Christmas Kettle Campaign is The Salvation Army’s biggest campaign event of the year. Their goal this year is to raise around $550,000. There are red kettles placed around the city for anyone to donate money to. As well, people are allowed to take the kettles to events or gatherings to raise money.

At this year’s campaign launch General (Ret.) Rick Hillier was the guest speaker. He spoke about the many men and women who have served our country in order to maintain its values. “They’re all stories of leadership you know our credo is we are all leaders all those men and women out there today they’re all leaders in our community,” said Hillier.

“None do it better than The Salvation Army,” said Hillier.

The Salvation Army has spent over 100 years helping those in need. They offer multiple services like addiction recovery and residential services for those who need a place to stay. They also have a residential program for seniors that have been diagnosed with a mental disability.

The Salvation Army accepts donations all year in the form of money, food and gifts.
