NAIT welcomes oil and gas companies to Industry Day

NAIT students got hands-on experience at this year’s 14th annual Industry Day. Petroleum Engineering and Chemical Engineering students engaged with representatives from 25 companies in the oil and gas industry.

This year, industry experts highlighted the importance the environment is playing on future career opportunities in the field.

“The attention on the environment has increased a ton, especially in the oil and gas sector which has a reputation for using what’s given to us from the environment side of it and not paying attention to making sure it’s done suitability,” said Vanessa Goodman, Manager of External Relations, North West Resources .

Students were able to view and take part in displays related to fracking, pipelines and bitumen upgrading.
