NAIT Ooks men’s volleyball team to host nationals this season

The NAIT Ooks men’s volleyball team will host nationals this season on home court. NAIT has hosted six national badminton championships, two basketball championships and one soccer championship.
As the host team, NAIT automatically has a spot in the event. There will be seven other teams coming to play and fight for the chance to be the national CCAA men’s champions. While the team says it isn’t looking to make major changes to its game plan, there will be slight adjustments leading up to nationals.
“Our game plan will change throughout the season based on players that rise up to the opportunities and challenges ahead of us,” said Phil Dixon, Men’s Head Coach.
Dixon says they have a few recruits joining the team this year. They’re taking it game by game and not looking too far ahead into the season.
“A lot of things have to happen before we get to that time of the year, six months away.”
NAIT won nationals in 2024. They’ll look to do it again when they host the tournament from March 11 to 14.
The team starts its journey when it kicks off the season Oct.17 against Red Deer Polytechnic Kings in the NAIT gym at 8 p.m.
