NAIT goes pink for a day to support anti-bullying

By Carter Bell on March 7, 2025

Pink Shirt Day, an anti-bullying campaign that has been going on since 2008, is coming to NAIT on Feb. 26. All students are encouraged to wear pink to bring awareness to bullying.

“Everyone has a different story to tell is what I always say. And so, what you see in post-secondary a lot that you’ve got those diverse people? And unfortunately, sometimes I wonder if that’s where some of this bullying and other loss of respect comes into play,” said Brayden Shopland, Vice President Internal of NAITSA.

Bullying can take many forms that many are unaware of, including:

  • Physical
  • Verbal
  • Cyberbullying
  • Social
  • Religious
  • Sexual
  • Disability

“So, it’s paying attention to that, especially again when you have a very, you know, diverse campus. We all have different experiences and understandings of the way things work, so being able to be kind.”

NAIT’s bookstore, shop AT NAIT, created pink shirts to sell. There is no in-person event this year.
