Walk into The Creative Hive and it will be a buzz with entrepreneurs. This new west end business is a co-working space for creatives and small business owners. A place for people to explore their craft, hone their skills and collaborate with other people in a common space.
“Creatives can work, they can play, we can have events, workshops, and classes. This is a space where the imagination can come to life,” says co-founder, Dez Melenka.
The space includes a natural light studio, a green screen room, workspaces, offices and event spaces for people to collaborate.
Melenka and business partner, Mike Tighe, share a passion for connecting creative individuals. After working in the media industry for over a decade, the pair decided to create a place they hoped would bring the community together and put Edmonton on the map.
“The whole goal here at The Creative Hive is to create a community that lifts people up because if we lift each other up, you can have collaboration over competition,” said Melenka.
The Creative Hive will be at the 2019 Edmonton Home + Garden Show. They will be running free workshops all weekend, showcasing some of the business apart of the Hive.
