Five years ago, The Alberta Business Association created Eats on 118. An event held annually to showcase the avenues diverse culinary scene.
“The amount of diversity we have here on the avenue is a funnel of things, we try to show people that even though they’ve been here. They can have an experience with the owners of the restaurants and learn more about their stories,” said Josheline Valencia, Administrative and Program Assistant.
On each tour, a host will guide Edmontonians to three businesses along the avenue to try their signature dishes.
“This avenue reflects the city’s cultural diversity, and through our food, we celebrate traditions, flavours and stories that connect people across borders,” said Massiel Banos, Paraiso Tropical Marketing Team Member.
“Every plate we serve is a way to introduce Edmontonians to Latin American heritage, while also creating a space where cultures meet, learn from one another and grow together.”
Eats on 118 will take place Thursday, October 16 and tickets are available at edmontonarts.ca/events.
