Jesse grew up on a farm in the small hamlet of Cherhill, Alberta. He is currently in his 3rd semester of Television Arts at the Northern Alberta Institute of Technology.
Jesse first discovered a love for television news as a toddler. While being babysat by his grandparents, Jesse loved to watch Josh Classen’s meteorology maps; as a young adult, Jesse developed a deep appreciation for news satire, such as Saturday Night Live’s “Weekend Update.”
Playing hockey and guitar helped Jesse become a bit of a "social butterfly" and he enjoys meeting new people and hearing new stories.
In the winter, he loves to hit the slopes in Canada’s mountain parks for some skiing; during the heat of the summer, camping and kayaking take up the bulk of his weekend time. Life on the farm helped Jesse appreciate the value of hard work, and he learned that nothing feels better than a job well done.
When he isn’t back home on the farm, playing shows at a coffee house, or gearing up for a game at a hockey rink, Jesse loves to spend time with his friends.
