NAIT is one of Alberta’s top employers

For the sixth consecutive year, NAIT is being recognized as one of the best employers in the province by Canada’s Top 100 Employers.

Editors of the website publish a new list of Alberta’s Top 70 Employers every year, an annual competition that recognizes the top employers in Alberta. The winners are evaluated by the quality of their workplace, health and financial benefits, vacation time off, skill building and the overall management of their organization.

Here are the reasons why NAIT is selected as one of Alberta’s Top Employers this year:

• NAIT employees have access to many on-site amenities such as a meditation room, a fitness centre and a variety of recreational facilities including basketball and squash courts, a climbing wall, an indoor running track, and a sauna.
• Flexible work hours and a paid maternity leave for 16 weeks.
• They offer their staff up to $650 worth of health and wellness spending accounts as well as health and wellness seminars.

Clayton Davis from Human Resources says, “There’s also additional training. If you want to go do a masters or a PHD, we have a lot of money set aside for staff to do that.”

NAIT instructor, Steve Chattargoon says he is proud to be working at NAIT for almost 17 years.

“NAIT taught me a lot and gave me everything that I need in my career. I was running my own business when I started teaching at NAIT and although my business was going really well at the time, I really enjoyed teaching here as well. It came to a point that I had to give up something that I love for something that I love even more.”

NAIT currently has an employer satisfaction rate of 95%.
